How to Use the E-Directory
The Chamber's all-new online business directory provides you with a number of easy ways to find the Chamber member who can provide the goods and services you need.
Browse
By Company
If you simply want to know who's who in the Halifax business community, you can browse through the company listings right from the directory home page by clicking the arrows to the right and left of the screen.
By Category
If you are looking for a particular product or service, click the "Browse by Category" icon at the top right of your screen. Or, click the category listed under any business to see a list of all businesses in that category.
By Contact Person
If you want to browse the names of member representatives - a great networking tool - simply click "Sort by Contact" in the top right corner of your screen.
Search
Know the name of the person or company you are looking for but need more contact details? Or do you want to search all companies located on Spring Garden Road or in Dartmouth? From the home page of the directory you can search by company (left box) or by contact (right box); from any page you can search by company name in the top right corner of your screen.
Contact
From a company listing, you can visit their website or social media links, or you can click on a person's name to send them an email. If you want to save a person's contact information, you can download their v-card by clicking on the v-card icon (
) next to their name. Please note the Chamber does not allow you to download a complete database of member contact information.
The Chamber does not promote or encourage the mass emailing of members, as this may contravene Canada's Spam Laws. The Q&A page on the federal government's Bill C-28 website states that "businesses must get express consent or implied consent prior to sending commercial electronic messages. Apart from express consent, consent to receive commercial messages is implied: a. where an existing business relationship exists with a customer or client, or b. the electronic messages are relevant to the recipient's business, role, function or duties, and the electronic address has been conspicuously published or disclosed, without a statement that the person does not wish to receive unsolicited commercial electronic messages."
More Information
To see a full list of contacts, a company description, M2M Marketplace offerings and more, simply click on a company's name, logo, or the "View All Info" button to the top right of the company's listing.
If you prefer to reference a printed version of the directory, simply click on the "Download the Directory in PDF Format" link at found at the top and bottom of each page. This will then format all listings into a PDF document which you can then print for your reference. Note that this may take a few minutes as it is a large file.
